Liminal Gallery
A downloadable game for Windows
Liminal Gallery is a small experimental project with unusual mechanics, with which you can turn pictures into reality. Explore the different rooms in the gallery looking for the door to the next level. The game is short and takes 15-25 minutes.
Developer note:
The idea of the game mechanics is taken from the game Viewfinder, if you have not played it, then I recommend checking it out. This project was originally created as an experiment, I wanted to repeat this unusual mechanic and naturally wanted to share it. Another important note is that the game may be unstable on some devices and bugs may occur, if this happened then sorry for that
Controls:
- wasd - move
- shift - run
- lmb - interact/align
- rmb - aim
- r - restart level

Love the game!!! One thing that got me down was on the first level when receiving the camera. I fell in the void because I misplaced the photo and that caused my controls to invert (forward is backward and left is right and so on) when I rested the level, it still didn't fix my movement. I continued the game for a bit with the messed-up controls but had to exit and come back which caused me to lose all of my progress. Please turn this into a full-blown game.

Excellent experience! I wasn't sure if I wanted to play Viewfinder or not but after going through this I'm definitely picking this up! This is why game devs need to make demos available, lol.
Edit: Didn't see a tip jar or anything here so figured I'd snag your Lidar game on Steam! Looking forward to trying that one out.
This scratched an itch I was waiting for! I loved viewfinder but its one of those games you can only play once. Seriously the quality of this could have been its own standalone viewfider style horror game (The vibes were immaculate, add in some more jumpscares or running from the monster sections and viola!)
Curious what the least amount of pics this can be completed in is. I think I got all the cartridges and ended with 11 pics left...

Hi guys don't download from random links FROM THE COMMENT SECTION
If you have unfortunately been redirected to the link it will automatically download an UNTRUSTED zip file. Do not open, do not execute it. Delete it immediately. It is unlikely that your computer will show symptoms either since this malware aims to steal information (mostly like through Lumma Stealer) until weeks later. So, if you DID accidently run it. Change your passwords (different device), delete your cookies, disconnect from the internet and maybe other stuff so reach out to professionals or a community. If you only downloaded the ZIP, you should be fine. Stay safe guys.
Also be careful not to download things from GitHub since this one directly came from one. Especially ones claiming to be updaters (unless confirmed by developer, which ISNT'T THE CASE here)
sorry, could you clarify? is this game's download link malware? i thought itch verified links once uploaded, so just checking if it's the download link on this game (titled 1.2v). should it be reported or..? sorry not a big tech wiz over here

Yes, I was trying to warn people but thank you for clarifying on behalf that the game itself is safe! As you can see there is a deleted comment underneath my original post which contained the malware (I was following around the spam account myself)
No there was a comment in comment section which (I see that now it's removed) which lead to malware, I will edit it
You can trust games which are uploaded the developer's page where clarified
So you can download games as normally from itch's download page.
Was bummed I couldn't play it on my laptop. I have a touchpad and it doesn't allow left clicking while right clicking so I got stopped by the very first photo.
Is there anyway way we can reconfigure the controls to make space bar the interact button or something like that?
Good game. I kept having trouble picking up the pictures from tables though.

The game was very entertaining and fun! It wasn't too complicated, although I got stuck in two places for a minute xD. Short but interesting game, 10/10! :D
Heck yeah! Finished with 30 pics left in the camera! =P Honestly quite fun the first time. Had additional fun on subsequent playthroughs trying different and quirky ways to play with things.

The technicality is such a unique concept and reminds me of Museum of Simulation Technology from back in the day. It's a cool short experience if you have the time.
