Liminal Gallery is a small experimental project with unusual mechanics, with which you can turn pictures into reality. Explore the different rooms in the gallery looking for the door to the next level. The game is short and takes 10-15 minutes.

Developer note:

The idea of the game mechanics is taken from the game Viewfinder, if you have not played it, then I recommend checking it out. This project was originally created as an experiment, I wanted to repeat this unusual mechanic and naturally wanted to share it. Another important note is that the game may be unstable on some devices and bugs may occur, if this happened then sorry for that

Controls:

  • wasd - move
  • shift - run
  • lmb - interact/align
  • rmb - aim
  • r - restart level

Really great work on the atmosphere! The arachnophobia-triggering moment felt a little bit out of place for me.^^' But otherwise I enjoyed the aesthetic and how the mechanic is used! with it!

Another great game execution by Ken! I felt that I kinda cheated in some rooms, but if it works, it works :) Recommended!

Great work recreating the mechanic and giving it a new twist with the setting, it was fun to play.

I had a great (and sometimes frustrating) time wandering through Liminal Gallery. The atmosphere is eerie and unsettling in just the right ways — the kind of liminal horror that makes you feel like you’re not supposed to be there. The gallery design and tension are top notch, and I love how it plays with perception.

Awesome game idea, the puzzles were also really fun.

Would love to play more of this!

SK/CZ LET'S PLAY!

I was awaiting some more horror from it, so I was constantly in stress when it will happen. But it is pretty good game, still, I really liked it a much!

Wow.  Just, absolutely wow.  I was first turned on to your lidar.exe game, and then found THIS!  Just trying to figure out what's going on, blew my mind.

A question, Ken, if you might:  Have you ever snapped a photo of the moon while you're falling toward it, and then looked down and popped a hole through the moon, with another moon to fall onto?  It can get REALLY WEIRD, really fast.

Another question:  How does the algorithm decide how to color the "cut" surfaces?  That is, new surfaces formed by cutting old objects with empty space?

And a suggestion:  If you ever do part 2, you could add a zoom lens!  I'd have to work out the projection math, but I *think* it would allow possibilities that aren't there now.

Can I send you, like, $40?  You've made my month  :-)
