A downloadable game for Windows

LiDAR Exploration Program is a exploration game where you can't see the world around you. Use the lidar scanner to colorize everything around you. The game contains several levels to explore, in each of which you have to scan unknown objects.

Features

  • Quite simple and addictive gameplay, just walk and scan.
  • Each level has its own color palette.
  • 8 levels available for exploration
  • Customization of patterns for the scanner

About

The game was inspired by Scanner sombre and the G'mod Lidar addon. The game was originally created as a prototype Lidar.exe.

This game rocks

it's such a eerie vibe! I really like the scanner sounds. if you want to have additional sfx/variations for it, I'd love to come up with some sound ideas... though it's already working like that wonderfully :)

Second in the line up. A fun short little jaunt. Curious to see how the full turns out.  It feel solid and has just a enough wait what? To keep things interesting.

This is a beautiful but deeply unsettling demo.

Seeing everything get revealed with the scanner is extremely satisfying and the different colour palettes in each level creates a gorgeous aesthetic; I feel like I could spend hours just pointing that scanner all over the place and getting every last detail. But at the same time I was very uncomfortable with how some shapes appeared and while the beating heart sound that accompanied the scannable objects did get me tense, somehow it was the objects that weren't marked which made me more nervous. The idea that something like a deer and an outhouse gets marked but not a graveyard just gave me a bad feeling and added to the atmosphere. Also I don't trust Scanny. I don't know if it's because he doesn't seem entirely certain of things himself or just because he reminds me of Clippy but I don't trust him. Overall I loved this demo, I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the full release as I'm very excited to see the other levels.

Final note is that I was not expecting to get jumpscared by a goose.

Its so pretty but I was too scared the whole time... Great game! (Well... not the scary part.)

LiDAR Exploration Program! Simply, you got around, map the area to see it with your lidar scanner, filing in the world with dots. You are given "targets" you need to find and spray with your laser dots.

Now, I played LiDAR.exe so when I saw this, I was excited to give it a shot. It is pretty creepy at times because you have to scan to see, expected the old "scan something there, scan its gone!" This is only the demo and see ways where this can becomes a terrifying experience.

But! I also found this game very chill, kind of in a powerwashing simulator kind of way, I loved exploring, using the scanner and trying to map out as much as I could and I can go either way, amped up spooky or enjoy a creepy but chill exploration game.

Great Job Ken Forest!

Looking forward to the full release!

This was so much fun! I can't wait for the full game!

loved

Do you plan to release full game also on itch.io?

That was pretty cool, very atmospheric.

I remember having loved Scanner Sombre and Lidar.EXE back when those came out and this was even better than what I had been expecting. I was just absolutely beautiful, first with all the colors and then with the representation of an abandoned city (though I might be a tad biased cause I love abandoned things). Some people might feel uneasy when playing this but I was just speechless with how gorgeous everything was and with how satisfying it is to explore in this game. Getting to the end of the demo made me genuinely kind of sad and I can't wait for the full game to come out, keep up the amazing work!

Awesome demo, cant wait to see more!

Man this game was so satisfying for me

Hey Kenforest! You have a really interesting style! would you like to collaborate?

This was so cool to play! Unlike anything I've ever seen before. The scanner feels like something out of a sci-fi movie. Exploring these worlds in the demo was beautiful and unsettling, like I was walking among ghosts. The detail of scanning a lamp post and having its shadow appear behind it was just *chef kiss* it made me happy every time I made a shadow. Added this to my Steam wishlist immediately! :D

Oh, GOD. This is awesome !

Hey has anyone found the Goose yet? I know i has to be there somewhere...

Very interesting game.

love the game. just one question? in the forest. was that a easter egg to the bell like in Call of Duty or a random object"?

hey I play your Demo it's was very Cool Game can't wait to play Full Game when it's Come out.

i found two bugs in the forest first off there is a floating tree by the cemetery and sometimes the water becomes unscalable and all the scans done to it disappears making it appear as a black void

Hello, I played this demo, and I liked it! Good work :)

Compared to lidar.exe this was definitely more extensive! Not that spooky honestly but the fact that something could lurk in already scanned areas made this feel creepy at times haha. Made a video on it.

I will be playing this live tomorrow 10/18 around 630-7 PM EST =D. I always try to show indie games some love.

Wishlisted! Didn't think I'd get to see another LIDAR based game after Scanner Sombre and The Voidness (the weaker of the two imo), so I'm very excited for this release :D
